You may be able to get assistance from the council with housing if:
You have children 16 or under with you or 19 and under in full time education
You're pregnant
You're a care leaver aged 18-21
You've been made homeless by fire, flood or disaster
You count as vulnerable
To be vulnerable you have to fulfil one or a combination of the factors below:
- are an older person
- have a physical or learning disability or mental health problems
- had to leave your home because of violence or harassment
- have been in care
- were in the armed forces
- have been in a young offenders' institute or prison in the past
Even if you fulfil these conditions you are not automatically classed as vulnerable, for example you may have an illness that can be controlled by medication even if you are homeless or if you are over 60 and in good health.
