The best part of the day here at Ashford Place is lunch time. We are lucky to have a great catering team who turn out three course meals every day and an equally varied company of diners who enjoy a varied and nutritious menu. Our diners are our neighbours, service users, visitors, volunteers, staff and occasional work men from nearby construction sites.
Our Side Door café, colourful back garden and dinning room present pleasant options as places to eat, meet old friends, make some new friends, all made even more pleasant by our wonderful team of Lunch Ladies and Gentlemen. Of course the key benefit of a cooked lunch, good company and a caring environment is that many of our customers would not have access to a decent meal if they didn’t visit us daily. One gentleman having lunch today is looking far healthier than he did when he first visited three weeks ago with a variety of social and health problems. Not only does he now have a regular three course meal - £3 – but he also enjoys the company of those around him and is looking much happier and more positive than when he first visited. Not surprising. I think we all know that a good regular diet is good for brain and body health. We are grateful to our funders and local community for their help in making this possible. And do call in someday for lunch or a cuppa
