Memories of London

30.09.2020

Working with the Museum of London and their volunteers on the Memories of London project, the Dementia Peer Support Group has been chatting online. Last week Hazel, a member of the group, joined an online chat which included music and photos from the 60s, 70s and 80s, including the first festival in Hyde Park. Hazel got everyone to sing along, and enjoyed sharing stories of friendships made while dancing to the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park. It was great to relive the shared experience of outdoor concerts, taking everyone back to a time before COVID-19.

A positive from lockdown has been that several of our group members have learned to embrace and use technology so that they can join in meetings like this.
