Our Dementia community members were delighted to contribute their views and ideas to ENLIVEN, a 3-year project based at the University of Exeter, with an expert team from Brunel, Hertfordshire, Manchester Metropolitan and Bradford Universities, Innovations in Dementia and The Sensory Trust. The project focus is to enable people to keep active, independent and socially-connected through increased outdoor activity. Our members were welcomed late last year to visit the Tower of London and speak with staff about accessibility including signage, road surfaces, seating etc. The visit has reminded us of the need and indeed value of enabling those living with dementia and their un-paid carers to enjoy being outdoors.
