We were delighted to receive a visit from Ambassador Martin Fraser and Kate O’Sullivan, Deputy Head of Irish Community and Culture Section from the Irish Embassy.
There were lots of stories and smiles all around as Ambassador Fraser delighted our guests by taking time to speak with each of them. They enjoyed telling him about the support they receive from Ashford Place.
Kate is a popular visitor to Ashford Place and enjoyed catching up with some of our regulars.
Lunch was Irish Stew with the best of Irish beef from O 'Farrells Butchers and plenty of teas and coffees were served with freshly baked goods, puzzles were completed and there was even time to round off the week with our fun weekly bingo session.
We are grateful recipients of Emigrant Support Programme funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland which allows us to support hundreds of Irish people, across generations, each year with aspects of their lives, from housing to finances to physical and mental wellbeing and making and maintaining friendships.
