As part of our work to extend our Befriending services throughout the community, we are hosting a number of coffee mornings in Sheltered and Retirement Homes in the Brent area. The aim of our coffee mornings is to regroup residents in these facilities and get them to sit down together again in their communal living rooms or gardens over a cup of tea or coffee as they may have done before the pandemic. Many of the residents in Sheltered and Retirement Homes may not see each other on a regular basis and we know their social interaction with each other is a very positive exercise for their physical and mental wellbeing. Even those living under the same roof as many of their contemporaries will not see each other from one week to the next so we hope our encouragement to take part in our coffee mornings will give them the motivation to take part in other social activities in the community again.
The feedback from our previous coffee mornings has been very positive and as a result some will be held on a monthly basis.
Our Befriending Team look forward to meeting all the residents and getting to know them in their familiar and relaxed social settings.
