This week Debbie the Dementia Hubs Manager presented to over 150 members of the Kenton Hall Elders Lunch Group alongside Dr Okda from the Memory Service. The session was interesting with information about what to do if you notice a change to your memory, how to get a referral to the memory service, what tests are used to make a diagnosis and what help there is after a diagnosis. There was even time for questions from the audience before lunch. Debbie noted that many people attending the session had noticed changes in their memory– which they put down to ageing. They now felt empowered to see the GP and get this checked out. The session ended on a positive note with images from the Dementia Hubs team events – showing that you can live well with dementia. If you are worried about your memory or changes to your cognitive ability please see your GP.
