Brent is alive with the sound of music, connection, and renewed energy!

08.04.2025

This week, we had the honour of hosting the Spring 25 CADBrent dementia gathering at Chalkhill Community Centre – a day filled with joy, camaraderie, and meaningful moments. Over 70 Brent residents, including PLWD (people living with dementia) and unpaid carers, came together for a truly unforgettable occasion curated by our exceptional Ashford Place staff on behalf of CADBrent – Community Action on Dementia.

The gathering was more than just an event; it was a celebration of life, resilience, and community spirit. Our Songs of Joy dementia choir serenaded us with heartfelt melodies that not only uplifted the crowd but symbolized the harmony we create when we stand together. Guests shared a lovely lunch, joined in a vibrant raffle, and unleashed their creativity through arts and crafts activities. Most importantly, it was a day to reconnect – to catch up on news, share experiences, meet old friends, and forge new bonds.

Such gatherings remind us of the importance of taking a moment to recharge, to laugh, and to learn from one another. They are therapeutic in the truest sense, fostering a sense of belonging and support that resonates far beyond the event itself.

A heartfelt thank you goes to CADBrent and Ashford Place for organizing this inspirational day. It is through their tireless efforts that Brent continues to shine as a beacon of community warmth and solidarity. Together, we make Brent sing – not only with music but with compassion and hope.
