Coffee and Climate Change!

13.06.2022

We had our monthly Coffee Morning in Clochar Court on Tuesday this week. It was a beautiful sunny morning and there was a great buzz about the building as friends got together again for tea and cake.

To add to our coffee morning group this time, we had a very welcome guest, Amandine Alexandre, who came to talk to us about climate change as part of her project which aims to make Brent residents aware of the importance of keeping climate change foremost in our minds. We discussed how times have changed and how residents of Clochar Court have noticed a change in seasons over the years, how plants flower at different times now, how people don’t walk or cycle as much as they used to many years ago. It proved a very interesting exercise to sit down with the older generation in the community to talk about how times have changed and how we can try to turn things around in our own small way for a more positive future for our planet.

The sun shone brightly on the beautiful garden in Clochar Court which is solely maintained by the very talented resident Margaret. Amandine was delighted to hear that the garden houses many recycled items including using rainwater which is a great way to keep the garden hydrated on the warm and sunny days.

Our next coffee morning at Clochar Court will be on July 5th at 11am. Please come along for some more tea and chat with friends!
