Cost of Living challenges are biting....

28.09.2022

We were optimistic for the future as the Covid pandemic abated. However, the cost of living crisis has rendered our ‘new normal’ a struggle that shows no signs of improving in the near future.

Ashford Place is experiencing rising running costs, as food and utility costs increase. This is combined with a decrease in our income, with donations decreasing and funding opportunities lacking.

Despite these difficulties, we must continue to provide essential services to our clients, the number of whom has more than doubled in the current financial year. Existing and new clients continue to require help with food and non-food supplies, debt/bills management, pension credit applications, PIP payments and accessing statutory and health services. Couple this with our work supporting clients with housing needs, mental health and dementia support and we are faced with very challenging times.

In response to this increased demand, we have extended our opening hours. To allow those to work to access our services, we are now open for drop ins on Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 7pm. If you can support our work please get in touch 020 8208 8590 Option: 6 or email [email protected] or donate.
