Our members and volunteers enjoyed a wonderful evening at Wembley Stadium at the 75th Anniversary of Windrush this week. We were thrilled to see the country's most prominent black sporting figures, including former England internationals Jermain Defoe, Sol Campbell, Luther Blissett, and Hope Powell, the first black female England coach who were invited to the historic event at Wembley to help mark the 75th anniversary of the original Windrush generation's arrival in Great Britain. This indeed was a massive star-studded celebration of the Windrush community's contribution to English sport. At Ashford Place we support all our BAME communities and it is this openness and welcome that creates the strong wider community spirt we are so proud of. Our residents make us what we are.
