Happy 1st Birthday to The Church of Ascension Memory Café which celebrated in style with a party. The café was the brainchild of the Vicar Jacqueline Shalloe who was determined to provide support and a warm welcome to the dementia community. The café has gone from strength to strength thanks to the enthusiasm of Jacqueline and her team who ensure that the café guests are offered an array of activities to stimulate the body and mind. They enjoy weekly gentle exercise as well as quizzes and a good old sing song. The Memory café opens its doors every Friday from 2-4pm at The Church of Ascension in The Avenue Wembley. The birthday party was attended by some 40 local people and the Deputy Mayor Cllr Hylton.
