This week, CAD-Brent and Ashford Place hosted a heartwarming get-together at Chalkhill Community Centre, marking the last gathering before Christmas. This event is one of four seasonal parties held each year for people living with dementia and their carers.
Living with dementia presents many challenges, so it is essential to have moments of joy and relaxation. This gathering provided just that—a day to feel good and refreshed. Attendees enjoyed a delightful lunch and an invigorating workout session. The highlight of the day was the first public performance of our “Songs for Joy” choir, which was a resounding success.
Debbie, our dementia-hubs manager, warmly welcomed everyone and expressed gratitude to our generous sponsors, the Big Lottery, and our dedicated volunteers from Zurich Insurance, who provided invaluable support and Christmas presents. Harrow Cares, our staff team, and our dementia community also received heartfelt thanks.
Many attendees remarked on the professionalism and genuine care of our staff, who consistently go above and beyond to offer support. The event was a testament to the strength and unity of our community, and the “Songs for Joy” choir’s debut added a special touch to an already wonderful day.
We look forward to more such gatherings that bring joy and comfort to our community.
