Moving at the Movies

12.03.2025

Moving at the Movies at Kiln Theatre is an inspirational project that culminated in a special sharing event this week. Participants performed rehearsed routines and presented creative responses to films they had viewed over the previous weeks. Designed to support Brent residents aged 50+ living with health diagnoses, the programme aims to foster connection and activity through varied cinema experiences, including learning dance routines seen on screen.

Participants engaged with films representing the heritage of local communities and took part in activities encouraging movement and social interaction. It was wonderful to see so many of our clients participating in the project. This is just one of many opportunities we have had to collaborate with the amazing Kiln Theatre. The project's aims closely align with our own mission to use the arts in all forms to support well-being. We know that making or viewing art can help us feel good! The colour of paint, the texture of fabric, the sound of music, the smell of plasticine, and the movement of our bodies can all stimulate the senses and bring happiness.  Thanks to the Kiln for inviting our older residents living with health diagnosis to experience the power of art.
