We were delighted to have Noreen Mulrine from Safe Home Ireland visit us this week. We shared our experiences on the growing difficulties that our clients face when trying to plan for their lives as they approach retirement age. Long term suitable accommodation is hard to source when people want to down size or move out of long term digs or bedsits into accommodation more suited to their needs as they head into their later years. The work to source properties, liaise with councils, housing associations and private landlords is very intensive and requires a lot of resource and tenancy. Suitable outcomes are becoming increasingly rare and our team continue to support our clients to live fulfilling and healthy lives even in times of uncertainty.
Many Irish people do not want to return to Ireland long term but all of those we speak with would like to visit more often but face trouble booking digitally and many no longer have family to visit or do not have funds to pay for a hotel stay.
