The sound of music in Cricklewood with the Sound Sanctuary, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

10.07.2025

We were delighted to welcome participants to another uplifting session of Sound Sanctuary at Ashford Place Community Centre, Willesden Green.

Led by musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, these sessions invited adults experiencing mental health or wellbeing challenges to explore music-making in a supportive and creative environment. Together, we composed original pieces, shared stories, and discovered the joy of orchestral music.  There was no need for prior experience needed, just enthusiasm!

The session offered a space for connection, creativity, and calm. Many attendees shared how much they looked forward to these gatherings and how positively they impacted their wellbeing. The music, the community, and the sense of achievement left everyone feeling inspired and uplifted. We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special.
