What began as a generous gesture has blossomed into something truly special. Back at the start of the year, Memphis kindly volunteered his time to teach guitar—and now, every Monday afternoon, Cricklewood hums with the energy of eight increasingly confident musicians.
Under Memphis’s expert guidance (he’s an accomplished musician in his own right), the group has gone from tentative strumming to producing sounds that could rival any local gig. And it’s not just about the music—it’s about the spirit. One of the band members, upon hearing that we lacked music stands, turned up this week with his own home‑made creations. The stands are not only practical, they’ve added a quirky charm to rehearsals, proving that ingenuity is as much a part of the band as rhythm and melody.
At present, the ensemble doesn’t have a manager… but let’s be honest, with the way they’re progressing, it won’t be long before offers start rolling in. Until then, we’ll keep enjoying the weekly soundtrack they provide—a mix of dedication, laughter, and the unmistakable joy of making music together.
