Walking into Summer: A Reflection on Our Walking Project

29.07.2024

As we approach the end of the first quarter of our walking project, we celebrate the commitment and enthusiasm of our participants. With a growing total of 35 walkers since March, each individual has experienced unique benefits during our weekly walks.

Joining our walking group offers numerous advantages:

  • Combatting Loneliness and Isolation: Walking together fosters connections and combats feelings of loneliness.
  • Improved Physical and Mental Health: Our group walks contribute to positive physical and mental well-being.
  • Growth in Confidence and Motivation: Participants gain confidence and motivation through regular exercise.
  • Exploring Green Spaces: We’ve not only explored Gladstone Park but also ventured to other locations during our “Big Walks.”

Our first “Big Walk” took us to Hampstead Heath, where we braved the weather and enjoyed the view from Parliament Hill. Despite rain, it was a positive and memorable trip.

Next, we visited Golders Hill Park, meeting the resident owl and appreciating the park’s beauty. Roundwood Park, with its stunning flowers and majestic trees, provided another uplifting experience.

Remember that walking isn’t just about physical fitness—it’s an opportunity to immerse ourselves in nature and enhance our mental well-being. By participating, you’re not only supporting yourself but also contributing to our community.

If you or someone you know would like to join our walks, please contact Jeri:

Let’s keep walking together! Let;’s keep supporting each other.
