Young people helping local community

There was a good turnout this year at St. Mary and St. Andrew RC Church where we spoke to a wonderful group of Confirmation candidates about topics affecting the local and wider community. We discussed all the different types of work we do here in Ashford Place and how we as individuals or as a group can help those less fortunate than ourselves at any time, and especially at this time of year.

Some of the topics discussed were Mental Health, Homelessness, Dementia and Befriending. We took questions from the group and we were very impressed with the level of interest, responses and ideas which came from each and every one of them.

Thank you to all the candidates for attending our discussion this year. We came away feeling inspired and confident that the more vulnerable members of our community will be well supported in the future as our students move forward into their future careers.

We also want to thank St. Mary and St. Andrew RC church for their continued support.
