Thank you to Julie Hamill author of Jackie who visited our book club on Wednesday. We really enjoyed discussions with Julie on how she developed the characters that featured in her first book, Frank. The book evoked lots of memories about music in the 1980’s and about how local communities support each other. The characters in the book have lots of hidden strengths and enjoy good friendships even in challenging times. A great book choice for our group of readers and we have promised not to put too much pressure on Julie to bring the next book to us.
Our next book choice is The Woodlanders by Thomas Hardy and we will meet in the Side Door Café at Ashford Place on 11th March 2020 at 2pm to discuss
