While its been a challenging time for Ashford Place and all of its clients, all of us on the Irish Elders team are working together to make sure we are all in contact and looking out for each other. We need to ensure you have everything you need and that you are keeping the spirits up! Its a real pleasure talking to all of you so frequently and learning how you are all keeping yourselves busy! Some of you are enjoying reading, gardening, sitting in the lovely sunshine and singing!. Thankfully there has been a lot of sunshine this week!
I myself have been hearing all about how your families, neighbours and friends are all looking out for you and each other and it is heart warming.
There are moments of worry and confusion about how long this will continue for but as long as we stay in contact and continue to be positive and enthusiastic we will get back to normal before we know it!
One good thing for me about this is that I get to speak to you far more frequently than I would normally and I am getting to know you and even some members of your lovely families!
My two young children have enjoyed speaking to you on the phone on occasion and some songs have been sung! It is a good opportunity for all ages to come together and talk on the phone or send an email.
COVID-19 has certainly changed the day to day running of the project but its turned into a very positive way of working for now.
So lets keep the spirits up and look forward to getting back to normal as soon as possible!
