Mental Health Awareness Week May 2020 at Ashford Place - Kindness
At the beginning of the week we asked staff, volunteers, friends, clients to tell us their acts of kindness during this week of Mental Health Awareness.
In summary our community is very kind. We have received lovely examples of people being kind to each other. Here are some for you to read
- Blerina and Tania held a zoom meeting with some of our clients from our Mental Health Mentoring project and Health & Well Being project and they all agreed to sign up for the 30 day Kindness Challenge
- And Blerina again. With her two daughters they walk their neighbour’s dog (who is shielded. The neighbour, not the dog) for the last 4 weeks, about 3-4 times a week and we have it booked for this weekend too, a snap of little Teddy is attached
- And from Carey, a Trustee at Ashford Place. Checked on her 90 and 80 year old neighbours and got her shopping plus weekly phone call to a recently bereaved person plus phoning a friend living with dementia who is currently in a Care Home.
- And from Binal, housing support worker at AP who says that her 3 year old neighbour, always saves me an ice lolly after her afternoon nap. Here she is waiting for me from her garden.
And lots more examples of kindness this week. Thanks to everyone who took part.
