Taking part in the People’s Panel meetings is a way for people living with dementia to have their voice heard. The meetings focus on real-life issues that affect you, such as transport, emergency services, social care and more. The meetings take place online at the moment, and you don’t have to commit to coming to every meeting – they take place about once every six weeks.
This month the discussion was focusing on Dementia Friendly London – how can we make it a reality? We also talked about what needed to be taken back to the board of the Alzheimer’s Society, to help plan the charity’s focus, and the answer was all about GPs and support services, the people in the meeting were worried about prescriptions and getting appointments.
