Our befriending team had the chance to have a garden visit with Tom while he is having some time to rest and recuperate.
It was great to see Tom smiling and being his usual happy self and we look forward to seeing him in Ashford Place very soon. Tom was a bit unwell but is being very well looked after and getting stronger by the day.
See you soon again Tom!
We have been able to move our Wednesday Support Group outdoors into the garden over the last couple of weeks and our clients have been enjoying having tea and good chat in the sunshine while some prefer to sit in the shade of the lovely surrounding trees in our garden.
The sunshine adds a new feeling of hope and positivity to the lives of our clients who have come a long way through a very difficult year. We continue to adhere to the safety guidelines as we know we are not fully out of the woods yet but our main aim in Ashford Place is to keep everyone safe in order to be able to continue our social gatherings safely and securely.
Many of our clients have told us how hard it has been for them and what a great relief coming to Ashford Place is for them.
Apart from the hard work put in on-site at Ashford Place, we continue to put in as much work with our clients who are not as fortunate and are not able to attend Ashford Place due to medical and mobility issues. Our befriending project spreads out further to our clients throughout the community who are still at home for reasons aside from COVID and the pandemic. It is very important to us that we put in as much time with our housebound or unwell clients who we don’t see come in every week as we do with those that do come. They continue to need our support with challenges they face on a daily basis and these challenges have been compounded by the pandemic which makes the befriending project more important than ever.
We continue to support our clients to the best of our ability in order for them to feel supported and to ensure they know that when they come to us either in person or on the phone with an issue we will are always here to help where we can.
