The Dementia Peer Support Project group which meets at Ashford Place 10-12 every Tuesday enjoyed a trip to the Museum of London this week.
This was a follow-up to the reminiscing session that the Museum presented to the group in September. We travelled together by underground to the Barbican and were met and escorted to the museum, where we started with a nice lunch in the cafe! We then had a very interesting private tour with museum staff Marina and volunteer Veronica who entertained us with stories and exhibits of Shakespeare’s London, the glamour and poverty of Victorian times, the roaring 20s and an immersive experience in a 1800s Vauxhall pleasure garden! Thanks to everyone who braved the slightly chilly weather and the underground to join us on the day.
