We had a fun visit from Holly and Catherine, two educators at The Wallace Museum, who held a very informative workshop at our Tuesday De(mentia)-Café. The focus for the interactive session was the portraits of Frans Hals, in particular the world famous portrait of The Laughing Cavalier. There were lively discussions from participants about the style of painting, backgrounds and the clothing and facial expressions of the Cavalier and his contemporaries. The highlight of the afternoon was when two participants Muriel and Sergio, posed for the group while dressed in the costume and hat of the Cavalier. Everyone enjoyed the visit and was full of praise for Holly and Catherine for their very enlightening workshop.
