The Church of Ascension opened its doors on Friday to welcome the community for the launch of its weekly Memory Cafe. The turnout for the event was excellent with some 29 people from the local community enjoying the activities which included a quiz, a singalong and of course plenty of tea and cake! The guests were greeted by warm smiles and enthusiasm by the volunteers who made everyone feel very welcome. In the next few weeks the Wallace Collection will be visiting the café with some examples of artwork on display in the museum for an interactive art session, the Green doctor will be visiting to talk about energy efficiency and staying warm at home and the Dementia Hubs Advice Team will be holding regular monthly advice sessions.
