Here at Ashford Place we pride ourselves on maintaining a high level of competence when it comes to our clients’ wellbeing and safety, so last week three members of our team underwent Evac Chair training in order to allow us to safely evacuate the less mobile members of the community who attend. Over the course of a morning, Jeri, Blerina and Alejandro learned how to deploy and operate the chair in the stairwell, meaning that Ashford Place now has five trained operators who can assist in evacuation in the event of an emergency. The safety of our clients is paramount and this is another way in which we are prepared for the wide variety of people who come through our doors, and continue to welcome the less mobile in our community without discrimination.
