It was a busy week for the Dementia Hubs Team last week. To mark mental health awareness week we arranged several events. We started the week with a dementia friendly cinema screening at the Kiln Theatre. More than 50 people from the café network enjoyed the movie and refreshments curtesy of the Kiln.
On Wednesday we had a celebratory formal Coronation Afternoon tea funded by the London Fire Brigade at Park Royal who paid us a visit on the day. Sandwiches, scones and delicious cakes were served to the 60 people in attendance. After having our fill of tea we moved on to a session of prize bingo before finishing off the afternoon with a singalong. Tracey who led the singing was in fine voice as always. A great time was had by all.
Friday saw a trip to Kew Gardens. The weather was not kind but we made the best of the time we had and enjoyed taking part in the activities provided by Kew. These included making Tudor hats and a pop up garden! The gardens looked beautiful as always and we hope to return to Kew in the summer.
