We welcomed forty guests from our local community to our commonwealth Day event. Whether or not a community is a member of the Commonwealth, celebrating this day fosters a sense of unity and empowerment. The week it is celebrated in quite often coincides with St Patircks Day celebrations so for Ashford Place we enjoyed two celebrations this week.
We are grateful for our friendship with @learningthroughthearts who helped with the set up and quiz and music and storytelling workshops. This year’s theme “Towards a Common Future” tackles challenges of gender inequality, global health, nutrition and education access. We at Ashford Place have a strong connected community proudly ticking all these boxes through our service delivery.
Due to popular have been celebrating this day since 2019 and it is great to see the enduring friendships of the guests and here’s a look back at our 2019 event.
