We were delighted to welcome 15 wonderful guests to today’s Wellbeing Thursday session at Ashford Place. The atmosphere was vibrant - full of energy, laughter, thoughtful conversation, and a genuine sense of community.
One participant beautifully described the session as “a safe space where I can talk about my feelings without fear of contradiction or judgement.” That sentiment truly captures the spirit of what we aim to create every Thursday.
Beyond the warm and welcoming environment, the group also shared some powerful insights on how mental health services can be improved. Key ideas included:
- Bridging the digital divide: Many attendees highlighted the importance of supporting individuals with digital challenges. As one person noted, “If we all had and knew how to use smartphones, we could book GP appointments more easily.”
- Collaborative care: There was a strong call for mental health organisations to work more closely together. The group expressed a desire for a more connected system - “one journey to services,” rather than navigating a maze of disconnected agencies.
We’re incredibly grateful for the openness, ideas, and support shared by everyone who attended. These conversations are not only healing - they’re helping shape a better future for mental health support in our community.
Join us next Thursday for more connection, conversation, and collective wellbeing.
Our thanks to the Wates Family Enterprise Trust.
