Celebrating Summer Together

01.09.2026

More than 160 people came together at Ashford Place for an unforgettable day of music, creativity, friendship and wellbeing.

Ashford Place is open year-round, helping people secure and retain suitable housing, build financial independence, manage health conditions, be physically and mentally well, and develop social connections and friendships. People can self-refer, and we welcome referrals from all organisations.

Our end-of-summer health and wellbeing event brought together more than 160 people for a joyful celebration of community and belonging. Guests enjoyed activities, workshops and access to information, advice and guidance, while people at risk of isolation had valuable opportunities to connect.

Music, magic and plenty of participation

Saoirse and Ruby filled the day with Irish music, keeping the crowd clapping along, while our house band, Strung Out, led a lively singalong. Ady also captivated guests with a wonderful selection of magic tricks.

After a tasty freshly cooked lunch, guests made pickles, tried a Delusiodoodle-art activity for wellbeing, took a chance in the raffle and shared stories and enjoyed one another’s company.

A welcoming place throughout the summer.

The event was a fitting finale to a busy summer. During the hottest days, Ashford Place remained open as a cool space, providing shelter, refreshments and companionship to people affected by the heat or loneliness.

Strung Out will perform again at the Kiln on 13th  October during our Mental Health Arts and Music Festival, celebrating creativity, connection and wellbeing through the arts.

Thank you to everyone who attended, performed, volunteered and helped make the day such a success.
