Ashford Place CEO, Danny Maher, is the first member of the team to share his pledge
We have joined forces with Hendon Football Club to tackle loneliness. We are working together to launch the ‘Tackling Loneliness Together’ campaign which aims to highlight the psychological and physical impact loneliness can have on an individual’s health and wellbeing.
Loneliness has become an epidemic in the UK affecting people of all ages, gender and backgrounds. Whilst everyone might feel lonely at some point in their life, persistent feelings of loneliness is damaging to health and wellbeing. Loneliness is linked with increased risk of obesity, coronary heart disease, depression, dementia and even premature death.
The online campaign will encourage members of the public to share their pledge as to how they will help to eradicate loneliness amongst their friends and family or community. A pledge can be as simple as visiting an elderly neighbour on a regular basis or volunteering at a local charity. We encourage you to visit our dedicated website to register your pledge and share a picture of yourself with your pledge on your social media pages tagging Ashford Place and using the hashtag #AshfordPledge. With your help, we can work together to highlight the issue of loneliness in our modern and fast paced world.
