I am at the Side Door café aka dementia café in Ashford Place on my weekly visit to spend some quality time with my mum. My mum looks forward to coming here, she has made some friends and has regained her love of word search puzzles. We were very lucky to have been introduced to this lovely friendly café. Sometimes outings are organised, two weeks ago we were at the Hendon Football Club, it was our first there, in fact, the first time inside a football club. We were made very welcome by the owner, Robert. There was a delicious lunch laid out for us as well and teas and cakes too. Needless to say a big thanks to Robert and his staff, as well as to Danny and Reena. I have not heard of dementia cafes before but am glad I have and I highly recommend them, dementia or not.
