We are all very busy supporting vulnerable people particularly during this challenging time and it is imperative we ensure the principles and duties of safeguarding adults at risk are assertively applied. We have seen an increase in the number of clients reporting abuse and neglect during the pandemic e.g. in our dementia, mental health and older people’s work, and have worked effectively with Brent Council to resolve these issues and continue to do so. See a useful link here about how to report abuse, and it is good to see CVSBrent delivering useful training/information events on this topic e.g. Safeguarding Adults Awareness Raising, Wed 30 June 2021, 2-4pm, which covers an overview of the law and guidance and how to raise a referral if you are concerned about an adult in Brent.
