With a renewed sense of energy and connection, our weekly Wellbeing Walks through the beautiful Gladstone Park continue to bring positive change to our community. Spring has added an extra charm to our strolls, with vibrant colours and blooming flowers lifting spirits and creating a truly uplifting atmosphere.
Our recent walks have gone beyond simply enjoying nature—they’ve helped foster meaningful social bonds, combat feelings of isolation, and offer a regular boost to both mental and physical health. As we walked through the garden this week, we stopped to chat with the volunteers and admire the rich tapestry of flowers and plants they’ve nurtured. These moments of conversation and connection are just as nourishing as the fresh air and exercise.
Our Wellbeing Walks offer a range of lasting benefits:
- Improved mental health through regular engagement and time spent outdoors
- Strengthened social connections that reduce loneliness and foster new friendships
- Increased physical activity, helping participants feel more energised and active
- A supportive environment where people can open up about personal concerns
- Shared hobbies and interests that spark joy and conversation
- A weekly routine that builds confidence and provides a sense of purpose and achievement
Feedback from our walkers continues to be overwhelmingly positive. Many have shared how these walks have not only improved their fitness but also helped ease anxiety and reintroduce them to the joy of connecting with others.

It’s particularly heartening to see a consistent and growing group of men joining us each week, many of whom say the walks have helped them feel less isolated and more a part of their community.
If you or someone you know would benefit from a friendly, relaxed way to improve health and connect with others, we’d love to welcome you. We meet at Ashford Place every Wednesday at 11am.
Once a month, we take a ‘Big Walk’ to explore a new green space. This introduces participants to other local (some not so local) parks they might not have visited before—encouraging them to continue walking and spreading the word to friends and family.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our walkers and supporters. Together, we're making mental, social, and physical wellbeing a cornerstone of our community life. WE have also overstepped our Million Steps Challenge and are well into achieving our second million.
