Your doctor isn’t the only one that help you feel better:

This week CVSBrent organised the first event on social prescribing in Brent at The Yellow in Wembley. Danny Maher, Chair of CVSBrent said ‘it is vital that our residents are aware of what is available across the borough to help them improve their health and wellbeing.

Social prescribing is a means of enabling GP practices and others to signpost people to a range of local, non-clinical activities which are typically provided by voluntary, community and Faith sector organisations. At Ashford Place we provide a wide range of activities that can help a person feel better, energised to stay fit and well and connected to other people and their local community.  The event this week is the start of a number of conversations leading to how we can together deliver a successful social prescribing programme for our residents.  The event was opened by Danny Maher, CEO of Ashford Place, Chaired by Cllr Krupesh Hirani (Lead Member for Public Health, Culture and Leisure) and with very interesting presentations e.g. the Bromley By Bow Centre, a leading player in the development of social prescribing in the country.
