We’re coming to the end of our celebrations of Black History Month.  And now without taking a breadth Brent Thrive would like to invite you to join us and celebrate Diwali - a five-day festival of lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. BAPs Sri Swaminarayan Temple Neasden have kindly donated 600 Indian vegetarian hot meals and 600 Diwali hampers containing Indian sweets and savouries which will be delivered to the community by volunteers from Brent Mutual Aid Groups covering twenty wards within the Borough of Brent (delivery date for the hot meals will be Tuesday, 3rd November and the Diwali hamper any date between Tuesday, 10th November to Friday 13th November

(Please note these food items may contain nuts and are not suitable for people with food allergies)

Look out on our Instagram page week commencing Monday 2nd November where we will be streaming some of the most famous Bollywood song and dance acts and the story behind the festival of Diwali. 

We will also be screening an Indian Bollywood drama film (with English subtitles) called BLACK- an award-winning film related to mental health and physical disabilities on Saturday, 7th November at 7.00pm. A Zoom Invite and a synopsis of the film will be sent to you via email.

Finally, Brent Thrive will be launching our Asian Peer Support Group this December and details will be included in your food packages. If you or anyone you know living in Brent who would benefit from engaging with an Asian and Ethnic Minority mental health and wellbeing support group, which provides a stigma free, culturally sensitive space to learn and share please email [email protected] to arrange a referral.
