Brent Changing Mindsets

Brent Changing Mindsets (formerly known as Brent Thrive)

Formerly known as ‘Brent Thrive’, the group ‘Brent Changing Mindsets’ is dedicated to changing the perception of mental health in society at large.

As the name changing mindsets implies, we want to change your mind and our own. All in the effort to make Brent a truly mental health friendly borough, limiting prejudice and making everyone feel welcome.

Our objectives are:

  • To amplify the voices of minority sections of the community and provide a platform for community leaders to enact change.

  • Creating infrastructure of services and groups that are led by people with lived experience within Brent.

  • Promote more awareness and understanding of mental health across Brent.

  • Create a welcoming and accessible community, educating others and ourselves on how best to approach and consider mental health in general..

  • Lobby for more funding for mental health services.

‘Brent Changing Mindsets’ was borne from in person feedback from our clients utilising the mental health services at Ashford Place. More people than ever are looking towards community action to change the lived experience of those with mental health issues and we as a grass-roots project are committed to change! We are a part of the Health and Wellbeing services at Ashford Place and members of the Brent Mental Health Partnership..
