Scam Awareness Talk – 4th December 2024

04.12.2024

At Ashford Place, staying informed is key to staying safe, and on Wednesday, December 4th, we hosted an insightful Scam Awareness Talk for 32 attendes.

We were joined by Nicky Coorsh, Events and Community Relations Manager from SAFE (Security Advice For Everyone), along with Elaine, a local police officer. Together, they provided vital information about the various scams that people need to be cautious of today, including:

  • Phone Scams
  • Postal Scams
  • Face-to-Face Scams

The talk reminded attendees of a simple but powerful message "If it feels too good to be true, it probably is."

Through an engaging PowerPoint presentation filled with actionable tips, Nicky and Elaine shared practical advice on how to avoid falling victim to scams and what to do if you suspect one. We’ll be keeping a copy of the presentation at Ashford Place, so feel free to reach out if you’d like to review the material or have questions.

A big thank you to Nicky and Elaine for sharing their expertise with us. We’re already looking forward to their next visit and more informative sessions to help our community stay safe and aware.
