A significant number of people in Brent who have a diagnosis of dementia are Irish and we wanted to provide a service for this group and their families/carers that enables them to live as healthy and inclusive life as possible, one that is valued and one that contributes to the wider community.
Hence, our Irish Dementia Project, supported by the Irish Government Emigrant Support Programme and donations, which consists of:
- 1:1 casework supporting the individual with a range of medical, social and welfare issues
- Support to family/carers
- Weekly drop in to our dementia café or to one of our 16 dementia Cafe's in Brent
- Health & Wellbeing Workshops
- Peer Support Training
