Understanding dementia

13.10.2021

A very warm Cricklewood welcome to Lissy, Dementia Carers Count’s Speech and Language Therapist, Dementia Care Services practitioner who commenced a programme of weekly dementia training sessions for carers. We have been saying for a long time that Carers are not being offered enough support and information regarding dementia and their role as Carers. We are delighted to welcome Dementia Carers Count to Brent and plan for this five week programme to be rolled out across the borough, resources permitting. If we expect Carers to continue their valuable contribution to the health of our community then we must continue to support them as much as possible. The five sessions will cover areas such as ‘the brain and dementia’, dementia symptoms, memory changes, understanding why dementia is different for everybody, and taking care of yourself as a carer. If you are a carer or know someone that is and maybe interested please email Sally for more information on the sessions and times.
